More Travelers Use Online & Mobile Video for Travel Information
Vacation season has arrived and travelers are online, on every device. According to a 2012 Google/Ipsos MediaCT study, 83% of leisure travelers plan trips online. As frequent travelers tend to be on-the-go, 38% of leisure travelers and 57% of business travelers use a mobile device to access the internet for travel information.
Video has proven to be an essential part of the travel process. 21% of leisure and 26% of business travelers use online video for travel planning. Moreover, 93% of business and 89% of leisure travelers watch video online. With these online audiences continuing to grow, online video advertising opportunities for travel and tourism are greater than ever.
It seems that travel and tourism ads have a significant impact on travel planning. 45% researched travel online as a result of seeing an online ad, and 32% of travel apps are downloaded from clicks on ads. This presents great opportunity to engage travelers and drive sales with multiscreen interactive video ads for travel and tourism.
