Spring Home Improvement: Engage Shoppers with Interactive Online Video
The latest Remodeling Market Index (RMI) numbers are out from the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB), and the fourth quarter of 2013 is at its highest reading since the first quarter of 2004—suggesting that the growth in home equity and home sales are prompting home owners to undertake upgrades that they put off during tough times. Consumers are upgrading and redecorating in 2014 and turning to online video for research and inspiration:
- 35% of consumers plan to upgrade or redecorate their homes this spring (Burst Media 2014)
- 50% say video is important to the home improvement shopping process (Internet Retailer 2012)
- One in four people turn to the internet for home improvement inspiration (Millward Brown Digital and Frank Magid Associates 2014)
- 52% of consumers are more confident in their online purchase decision after watching product videos (Millward Brown Digital and Frank Magid Associates 2014)
- 1/4 of home improvement videos watched during the shopping process are ads (Millward Brown Digital and Frank Magid Associates 2014)
