Video Advertising Across Social Channels – What’s the Latest?
We had a fantastic turnout for our Webinar in partnership with Adage last week titled Video Advertising Across Social Channels. Mathew Feeney, Product Marketing Lead stepped in for Walter Harp our VP of Product Marketing to talk about recent developments in video at Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Tumblr and what that means for brand advertisers wanting to use video on social media.
Key stats and trends included:
- Video is the fastest growing form of online advertising
- 90% of agencies plan to run video ad campaigns this year, up from 78% last year
- 86% of agencies and media companies believe video is “core to social strategy”
- In June 2013, Hulu ran the most paid video ad impressions, followed by AOL
- It is not yet possible to purchase video ad inventory on Facebook
- Instagram has 130 million users, and could become an entry point into paid video ads for Facebook
- Dozens of advertisers are already running branded video on Instagram
- Unlike Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn both are already selling sponsored video ads
