The Mix – Journalist Monica Guzman

This month, Monica Guzman, a columnist at The Seattle Times and Geekwire joined Mixpo at The Mix. Our CEO Jeff Lanctot had the opportunity to talk to Monica about topics ranging from the existential crisis of journalism, old versus new media, native advertising, working with startups, unplugging, work-life balance and service to the community.

Mónica Guzmán is a columnist for The Seattle Times and Northwest tech news site GeekWire. She emcees Ignite Seattle, a grab-bag community fueled speaker series, appears regularly on NPR station KUOW’s “The Conversation” and dissects media tech trends on PBS MediaShift’s Mediatwits podcast. She’s been named one of the Top 100 Women in Seattle Tech, one of the Poynter Institute’s 35 social media influencers and one of the Society of Professional Journalists’ “Quill” magazine’s 20 journalists to follow on Twitter.
